My Summer Pick - Allure de Chanel EDT
Before I start babbling about what makes this my perfect summer fragrance pick, I need to stress that the EDP smells completely different from the EDT, they're not interchangeable, and they actually are composed of different notes. So if you like the EDT, don't spring for the EDP thinking it's just a stronger version. That happened to me, and it was hard to exchange it once it was opened! That being said, here's a review for the Eau De Toilette - my summer pick!
The perfume house of Chanel is full of big, heavy fragrances. Who knew they had it in them to create something so light and succulent.
Allure Eau De Toilette is a concoction of wild flowers and honey, beach aromas (ocean, warm salt air, the subtle smell of sunscreen in the heat), soft musk, and fresh, delicious passion fruit. It isn't overpowering so you don't have to worry about making people choke on your own personal cloud of Allure. It stays on well, but closer to the skin.
All in all, this fills the bill for a light but smooth summer scent, and it has the added appeal of being Chanel. I typically prefer EDPs, but this is a lovely exception. It has plenty of lasting power, and smells like heaven. Plus, this one was the original Allure. The EDP only came out as a later addition. So really, if you wanted Allure, why not go for that first edition!
Have a great day, and thanks for reading!
